Terms of Use
Last updated 2 June 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using RxReader you agree to these terms on behalf of your pharmacy or organisation. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What RxReader is — and is not
RxReader is a decision-support and data-entry aid for qualified pharmacy staff. It reads prescriptions into structured data and surfaces items for review. It is not a medical device, it does not dispense or prescribe, and its output is not medical or clinical advice. Every reading and every flag is a starting point for human review, not an instruction.
3. Your responsibilities
- A registered pharmacist must verify every reading against the original prescription before any dispensing decision.
- You remain responsible for all professional and clinical judgement and for compliance with the rules of the South African Pharmacy Council and other applicable law.
- You may upload only prescriptions you are lawfully authorised to process, and you must keep your login credentials secure.
- Access is invite-only and limited to authorised staff of your organisation.
4. No warranty
The service is provided “as is”. Automated reading can be incomplete or wrong, including missing a real issue or raising a false one. We do not warrant that the service is error-free or fit for any particular clinical purpose.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RxReader is not liable for any clinical, dispensing, or other decision made using its output, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Data
Our handling of personal information is described in our Privacy & Data Handling notice.
7. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update these terms or the service, and may suspend access where use breaches these terms or threatens the security of the service. Material changes will be notified through the service.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
